Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 84 year old mom has had a mitral valve replacement and triple by-pass, still has orther blocked arteries. She takes high blood pressure medication, bladder control medication 2 baby asperin. She is experiencing crossed eyes and dizzines off and on for several months. It is sometimes accompanied with vomiting.
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Dizziness, crossed eyes and vomiting appears to be related to the vestibular system. 2. She will require an ENT evaluation to rule out any severe pathological causes like tumors or cysts in the vestibular system. She will require a clinical examination along with an MRI for evaluation. Vestibular neuronitis or dysfunction needs to be evaluated. 3. If all are normal, she will require medications like cinnarizine or scopolamine patches. Devices maybe necessary along with physiotherapy and balance training. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
