How To Treat Eczema Inspite Of Using Hydrocortisone Cream?

Hi my 9 week old baby has some rashes on his chest, back of his neck, face and scalp. My doctor said it is eczema and prescribed hydrocortisone cream to use for five days and some fatty cream as moisturizer. Most rashes gone after using the cream. But after I stopped it, the rashes all came back. What shall I do now? Thank you.

Hi dear ,

As per your query your baby has rashes on body which disappear after using hydrocortisone cream but come back as you stop using it .I would suggest you to consult pediatrician again for proper examination , because the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to some under lying problem like erythema toxicum , cradle cap or urticaria (hives) . Doctor may order certain skin lab test and may prescribe oral or topical antibiotics and anti inflammatory .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
get well soon.
Best Wishes,
