I am 39 year old white male, about 4 years ago I noticed my fingers were very pale and the rest of my hands and arms tanned normally. My cousin noticed in the instructions of the hair dye that it may cause depigmentation. My wife was the one who dyed my hair and I would shower without gloves to wash it out. the depigmentation is centered to my fingers and knuckle area, Can this have been caused by the direct exposure to the hair product? My Dermatologist does not feel this is the case, but my left hand is affected slightly more then the right and this is the hand I favor when washing my hair.
