How To Treat High Thyroid Levels During Pregnancy?

My daughter is due June 16th and just found out that she has a high tyroid count, They also told her that her blood type is AB- so she would have to get a shot around 23 weeks. They want her to come in for more testing. I want to know what does this mean, is her or the baby in jeopardy? Will she have a high risk pregnancy? Is she in danger of a miscarriage?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello,

Unfortunately all your fears are true provided she is not treated properly. However, with supplement of thyroxine almost all complications can be avoided. I think you should not delay further testing as it is important to intervene in timely manner.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashok Kumar, Psychiatrist
