Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that you have inflamed pericoronal flap that is the gum flap that surrounds or covers the wisdom tooth and the condition is known as
PERICORONITIS and it is caused due to infection between the gum flap and the tooth which is caused due to food accumulation in that area..
It leads to
severe pain and swelling and you should
consult a Dentist..
As if there is excessive swelling the dentist will advise you to take antibiotics like
AUGMENTIN ,anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
Do warm saline gargles thrice a day..
Gargle with
Chlorhexidine mouthwash can help..
Do cool compresses over the cheek..
Once the swelling reduce get an IOPAR [ X RAY] done to rule out whether wisdom tooth is impacted [ the tooth that will not erupt completely due to some obstruction] or will erupt completely.
If it will erupt completely get the gum flap removed surgically known as OPERCULECTOMY but in case if it is impacted extraction of tooth is the treatment of choice..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards..
