How To Treat Intermittent Pain In Right Thigh After Having Bilateral Hip Replacement?

I had bilateral hip replacement May/June 2013. Was good until June 2014. I started having intermittent shooting pain down my right thigh. I was seen by my orthopedic surgeon who did an xray on my hip which showed ok. I really didn't think it was from my hip surgery as the pain was very different. An MRI was done of my spine which showed 2 protruding discs. I have no pain in my back. I find it is more of a problem when I get up in the morning and if I have been sitting for a while, but not always. I did see an orthopedic spine MD. He felt that was the cause of my intermittent pain. Cortisone injection or surgery was the only solution. I am not in constant pain, but it occurs without any notice. I am wondering if I should get another opinion from a neurologist.
