hello doc, am a 31 yr old lady, weighs 65kg and 1.65 mtr tall. i gave birth to my second daughter 3 weeks ago. Since then i hav been suffering frm irregular bowel movements and uncontrollable abdominal gas. I fart a lot, what could be the problem and whats the solution?
Hi. Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Since you have given birth to a daughter recently just 3 weeks ago we have to be careful to give medications as you may be breast feeding the baby and many a medicines need to be avoided. I would advise you the following when there is so much of a gas and so. Get the stool and blood tests done and if there is an evidence of an intestinal infection a course of as safe antibiotic active against intestinal infection can help you to get a cure. You can also take activated charcoal tablets as these help in adsorption of the toxic things in intestine which also cause gases. Avoid the foods and beverages that instigate or enhance the problems. Consult your Doctor for clinical evaluation, examination and give you prescription based proper medications.
