I have a new grand baby and want to know if it is all right for me to hold and be around him with a stress related rash. I am thinking it is a set of hives. It started in the creases of my elbow and have spread to most of my body. I do have a alot going on in my life right now but don t want to miss out on the new borns first month of life. Any suggestion of what remedies to use to get the itch and rash to go away.

Hi,
First of all congrats for having a new grand baby in your life. If you are sure that the rash was not an infection but you got it as an allergic reaction to some environmental object like spider or dust etc. then it is safe to hold the baby. Usually people with allergic tendencies would have had these rashed multiple times. However, if this is the first time of developing a rash like this or if you are a diabetic or on any medicines that suppress immunity (like steroids etc), it is better to show the rash to a doctor and get a consultation. Hope I have clarified your query
regards,
Dr. Jeffrey
