It is serous otitis media, usually happened due to eustachian tube dysfunction after recurrent or chronic untreated URI or inadequate use of antibiotics or URI medication. It cause pain, heaviness and hearing loss.
There are 2 ways to get relief from it, medication- nasal and oral steroid, steam with Budecort, decongestant. Sometime we have to puncture the tympanic membrane (tympanotomy). Suction out the fluid. Some time we have to put grommet after myringotomy in recurrent or chronic serious otitis media.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
