Hi my name is Latoya, I am scared and nervous. I got Injured on the job in August of last year. I tripped over a Hose and twisted my leg, at that moment I felt a sharp pain up my leg. I didn t want to call out of work so I Bandaged it up for a week and went to work. had week off work so I got to rest it, went back to work the next week and got home the Saturday off work took a shower got out notice my left knee was swollen big. went to my doctor he had it X-rayed and it showed my left knee was sprained, got a Brace and a Crotch. still didn t get better, got referred to see a Orthopedic in December. He pulled Fluid and said it wasn t infected, got a Cortisone shot and CELECOXIB and I am still in pain, been doing Physical Therapy since January and still no help to what is wrong. MRI showing nothing is damaged in my knee. Please I have been out of work for almost a year now and I cant take the pain and numbness anymore. any advice???

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi, You seem to have a knee problem which has not been diagnosed till now.The MRI may have been reported as normal but it does not rule out an internal knee injury. You will need a physical examination of the knee to look for pain on manipulating the knee and signs of a possible knee instability. You will also have to undergo a procedure called arthroscopy during which the orthopedic surgeon views the interior of the knee and directly checks the ligaments and cartilages for damage. This procedure allows the surgeon to perform surgical techniques to repair any injury.
