General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It is important to find an actual reason for the pain in wrist that is radiating to the shoulder. The most probable causes I can think of are:
- Local wrist problems like arthritis, tendinitis
- Referred pain due to compression of nerve in neck or on its way down
- Any muscular disease or disorder

This can be diagnosed by the following ways:
- Consult an orthopedic surgeon as this needs a very careful clinical evaluation and examination so that a clinical diagnosis is made
- This is supported by appropriate investigations as directed by clinical judgement
- MRI of cervical spine or wrist and so on
- The treatment will be as per the diagnosis made

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
