How To Treat Painful And Swollen Mass On Buttocks During Pregnancy?

I am 31 weeks pregnant and have a hard skin mass on the top of my bum on each side swollen and incredibly painful to sit stand etc, nurse said it s an infection of the skin any ideas how to alleviate it? Not sleeping, on injections of wolfrine to thin blood (pregnancy related) had this before but used a steroid cream and it went away but nowhere near as bad as it is now!

Hi!! According to your history it seems to be a furuncle which is bacterial infection of the hair follicle. You should take a course of antibiotic like amoxycillin clavulanic acid for 7 days and tablet paracetamol for pain relief. You should also apply topical antibiotic like mupirocin on the painful bump twice daily and go for hot fermentation of the area. All these medicines are absolutely safe in pregnancy and will definitely resolve your symptoms.
