Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was experiencing periodic labored breathing about a year ago and my gastroenterologist did a test and advised I had gastroparisis. I had also lost a lot of weight and did not feel very well. I think the diagnosis was incorrect. I have since left the gastroparisis diet an eat pretty much what I want although not a lot. I have put the weight back on but continue to experience the periodic labored breathing. Sometime I have to open my mouth and take a big breath to fill my lungs. I also feel a little pressure in the middle of my abdominal area when this happens. I still think something is wrong that has not been diagnosed. Please help.

The symptoms are described by you are unlikely to be due gastroparesis. Occasional laboured breathing is sometimes a common phenomenon which occurs due to inadeequate oxygen in blood.
I would also consider the possibility of GERD, discuss it with your Gastroenterologist.
In case you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
Wishing you happy and healthy life
Take Care
