How To Treat Pleural Mesothelioma Despite Undergoing Chemotherapy?

I have been diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma. I am not a candidate for surgery. I have been undergoing chemotherapy. I underwent three treatments with Cisplatin and Alimta. The subsequent CT scan indicated the the treatment was ineffective. Subsequently I underwent a series of treatments with Gemcitibine and navelbine and the follow up CT scan indicated that the tumors had in fact shrunk a small amount. I understand that this is a good sign, just curious if you can quantify How good . I have, of course, discussed this with my oncologist and I m just trying to get as many data points as possible.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Any response to treatment will be taken as positive sign. In case first line drugs do not act, second line are tried and so on. The response to treatment will be monitored by your oncologist which has to be weighed along with deleterious effects or side effects caused by these drugs.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
