How To Treat Severe Back Pain While Suffering From Degenerative Disc Disease?
Having unbearable worsening pain in my spine from my neck to my tailbone and the pain has now spread into my muscles. Went to an Oncologist on Thursday and found out that he his on vacation for the whole week. They told me to either go to my PC or the ER. Both useless in my opinion. I asked if the had my blood results and my WBC count I up to 14.3. I have very painful swollen lymph nodes and night sweats, fever and extreme fatigue. No one is helping me and I cannot function anymore the pain is now so extreme. A month ago I could get relief by lying down but now there is extreme pain in my tailbone area and just cannot escape it. My recent MRI showed severe degenerative disc disease, scoliosis and a fracture. I had Melanoma a bout a year ago and was recently diagnosed with a new skin Melanoma on my shoulder. I don t know who to turn to as it seems no one cares enough. I have extreme nausea now which is more frequent also with stomach pains, bowel and bladder changes. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. David
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe back pain while suffering from degenerative disc disease which is causing discomfort and giving you symptoms which radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve, which branches from your lower back through your hips and buttocks and down each leg. Need not to worry. You should avoid doing excessive physical exercises. I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order X-ray , MRI , CT scan and electromyography . Doctor may prescribe anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxant, tricyclic antidepressants and anti-seizure medications. Doctor may also recommend physical therapy along with steroid injection and surgery . Doctor may also recommend surgery or may refer you to chiropractor .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
