How To Treat Severe Osteoarthritis In Hip And Lumbar Spine?

My Mother is 83 and she is not well. Heart trouble, Type 2 diabetes on warfarin from blood clot in her leg. COPD and Asthma, and now severe osteoarthritis in hip and lumbar spine. She is not strong enough to handle surgery and the rehab. What alternatives do we have?

At her age, i wont recommend surgery. Best treatment is to consult a physiotherapist who will help loosen her joints and muscles. Give her mild analgesics like paracetamol or acetaminophen for her pains. She needs to be kept as mobile as you can. Massages can help as well. Hope the information was useful
