Hi..
Can understand your concern..
As per your complain inflammation in the gum flap along with pus discharge is a clear cut sign of inflammation and it is known as
PERICORONITIS that is the inflammation of gum flap that completely or partially covers the wisdom tooth and it occurs in case of partially erupted or impacted (that will not erupt itself) wisdom tooth.
The infection occurring due to food lodgement between the gum flap and the wisdom tooth that can cause bacterial proliferation and infection or if the opposite tooth cause trauma to the flap can lead to inflammation..
Warm saline gargles and maintaining hygiene can help in curtailing infection but in case of infection leading to pus formation taking a short course of antibiotics can help in eliminating infection as if the antibiotics are not taken the flaring up of infection can happen anytime leading to pain, swelling and frank pus discharge..
I would suggest you to take a short course of antibiotics like
Amoxicillin 500mg twice daily for 5 days along with antimicrobial mouthwash and warm saline gargles.
Hope this information helps..
