How To Treat Sore Throat And Stuffy Nose?

I recently, Tuesday, had my last wisdom tooth surgically removed. I am 29 yrs old with a family history of HBP. Since that day, I have developed a sore throat, stuffy nose, awful taste in mouth and a right earache. I was presently taking Amox 875 mg, #14, 2 x daily. I have 2 left. My question is, could I have become sick from having this procedure done and let it run it's course or should I see a doctor or call my dentist? I was referred to this dentist by mine since he does not perform oral surgery. Thank you very much for any advice!

Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
As far as the sore throat and stuffy nose is concerned, these are two separate problems.
The sore throat can be secondary to the wisdom tooth removal, usually following wisdom tooth removal there will be soreness over the oral mucosa. Nothing to be panic, you can continue the same medicines and complete the course. If you have severe pain then you can use topical analgesic like choline salicylate. Do warm saline gargling.
Regarding the ear pain, this can be secondary to keeping your mouth open for long time during tooth removal. This might have resulted in disc displacement in the joint. Nothing to be panic, you can take tablet piroxicam(if you are not allergic). Do not open your mouth wide. Take soft diet.
The stuffy nose can be treated with cetrizine, take steam inhalation.
