How To Treat Stomach Hurt While On Glimepiride 2mg?
I am taking Glimepiride 2mg for a while. I don t know if it is related to my problem but my stomach is hurting a lot. Not painful. It feels like somebody hit me hard in the stomach which never happened. What is happening? Do I need to be concerned enough to see a doctor or hope it will quit soon? I have had this for 4 days.
Hi, Thanks for posting your query. I am Dr.Ratnakar and I am pleased to assist you. If the discomfort is more of a heaviness or bloating, then it could be due to gastroparesis which is a complication of diabetes. Control of blood glucose and taking prokinetic medications like levosupiride would provide relief. But if the discomfort is different and not like how i have explained, then you need to consult your doctor for clinical examination and getting tests done to find the cause. I hope that answers your question. Regards, Dr.Ratnakar Kini
