I am a 45 year old female with an impacted stone in my salivary gland in the right side of my throat. My mouth and throat are sore. No fever. The Urgent Care doctor on Thursday gave me 15 capsules of Cephalexin 500 mg. I take 3 capsules 3 times a day. I have 8 capsules left. Also eating sour candies (Cabbage Patch Kids). When do I know if I need surgery to get rid of the stone? The Urgent Care doctor said the stone will work itself out.
H. U can get an ultrasound done when this present episode subsides. After that depending on the size of the stone further planning can be done.. Smaller size can be left as such .. Large impacted stone will need a surgery..
