General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You have a thick yellow strip at the back of your throat. You have history of having tonsillitis for which you had been treated. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an ENT done, get your throat and mouth examined. Get required blood tests and throat culture (strep throat, chlamydia) done. You may need a biopsy to be done to stay on the safer side. You will be treated accordingly.

Stay well hydrated. Take adequate water, fluids, soups, etc. Gargle your throat 2-3 times with warm salt water. Take care of your oral hygiene and avoid smoking. Take Acetaminophen or PPIs to feel better. Antibiotics like Doxycycline -100 mg or Augmentin may help to cure the symptoms. You will get relief.

If any type of malignancy is detected then along with conservative treatment, you may be recommended other therapy / treatment / surgery that will help to treat and manage the symptoms and pathology. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
