Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, Im always very thirsty at night, i have a dry mouth, my hands and feet get really dry and they peal constantly all of this starts at night, I have daindruff too, no headaches or other pains. Ive been diagnosed of chromic gastritis but have a normal diet, no coffee or candys, mainly rich in salty meals, fat and carbohidrates.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Feeling excessive thirsty and dryness of mouth can be due to abnormal glucose metabolism or un-diagnosed diabetes mellitus. Thus, I suggest you to get blood glucose level-fasting as well as post postprandial. The symptom of hands and feet feeling dry and peeling is suggestive of some primary skin lesion. You need to consult a dermatologist for clinical assessment, relevant investigations, diagnosis and thus management. Dandruff is basically fungal infection of scalp. Dandruff can be managed by keeping scalp clean, using medicated shampoo which contains anti-fungal. Chronic gastritis can be managed by life style modifications. Fatty foods, beverages, high carbohydrates should be avoided especially at night. Weight reduction and regular exercise will also help.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
