How To Undergo Cataract Surgery While Suffering From Blood Pressure?

My health care provider will not dilate my eyes due to high blood pressure that only goes up when I visit a doctor. I had my eyes examined by an eye doctor a month earlier. He did not check my blood pressure and dilated my eyes. No problems. I thought I may have cataracts. He confirmed it. Why won't my provider run these eye tests. averages 135 over 82 at home, unless stressed.. 178 over 95 at the doctors office. 185 over 100 at the dentists office. I have been on blood pressure medicine for 8 months now.

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having cataract and uncontrolled hypertension.
The drugs used to dilate the eyes like pheny ephrine will increase the blood pressure. Hence in conditions with high blood pressure phenyl ephrine should be avoided and only tropicamide should be used.
The cataract surgery should be carried out only after blood pressure is adequately controlled as operating with high blood pressure can cause complications like expulsive choroidal hemorrhage.

Thank you
