Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am trying the Flector patch for hand pain do to Carpal tunnel and Tendeonitus when stenosis, trigger finger . I put the patch on my palm and the underside of my wrist. It does not have any effect on the pain. I am wondering if it would work better if I put it on the back of my hand?
Flector patch contains diclofenac which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory painkiller. It's used for mild pain like those of bruises and strain and is not a powerful painkiller. It should be applied to the area that is painful.
So I think you should try other things for the pain like splints to the wrist. And if too much pain your doctor may give a steroids inj into the wrist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician

How To Use A Flector Patch For Hand Pain?
Hi, Flector patch contains diclofenac which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory painkiller. It s used for mild pain like those of bruises and strain and is not a powerful painkiller. It should be applied to the area that is painful. For deep pains, like that of carpal tunnel syndrome or tendinitis, it s usually not effective as it works topically. So I think you should try other things for the pain like splints to the wrist. And if too much pain your doctor may give a steroids inj into the wrist. Hope I have answered your query.
