Hello Katchelle4ever. By kneeling on your knee for an extended period of time without protecting the knee, you have done soft tissue trauma. The knee will hurt for about 6 weeks until it heals and you need to buy a knee compression sleeve to decrease the pain in the knee. The pain is from inflammation of the knee and take ibuprofen, if not contraindicated, at a dosage of 400 mg every 4 hours or 600 mg every 6 hours as needed.
If knee does not improve in 4 weeks, see your family physician and ask for possible referral to orthopedist.
Be well, Dr. Kimberly
