Husband And Wife Having Bleeding Stomach Ulcers, Any Viral Infection ?

My husband was just diagnosed with a bleeding stomach ulcer in the exact same spot that I have. I was diagnosed 10 months ago with the same thing, same spot. How does that happen? How did we both get it? What kind of virus did we both acquire that would cause this and what can we do about it? My doctor gave him medicine, and also had given me medicine, but I think I still have my ulcers. Thank you.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
10 months ago you diagnosed a patient of stomach (gastric) ulcer, now your's husband diagnosed a same disease.
You want to know the reason of disease of both.
Here I want to make very clear that disease is not contagious so need not to worry at all.
Question arises , why both suffers? reason is very simple that there is something which you both are using , right.
You both take same food in your house and food is a main culprit in this case.
Spiced , fried, alcohol ( not for you) , stress, strain, anxiety , all above noted causes are responsible for your disease.Better you know what are these.
Helicobacter pylori is a gram negative microbacterium (H. pylori) is responsible bacteria for both of your's disease.
Now treatment is very simple and you have to consult a physician. Treatment is just for seven (7) days.

The ulcer is caused by H. Pylori infection.
The infection can spread from person to another / it spreads by water, food and direct contact – saliva, for example...
So there is nothing surprising or unusual in the spouse getting it...
The location and treatment depend on the bacteria, not the person...so same or similar in most...
