Hyper Extended Back, Pop Behind Knee, Upper Calf, Unable To Walk. How To Get Relief?
I was on the couch arm and I stepped back missing the couch. My left leg hyper-extended back and I felt a pop behind my left knee and upper calf . Unable to walk for 30 minutes and laid there in the floor. I iced, wrapped, rest, and used motrin. The pain is still there and I m unable to put any pressure on the left leg. I should probably visit my Ortho doctor, correct.
It seems from the description that you have suffered a SOFT TISSUE INJURY. You could have injured ACL or PCL (ligaments in the knee joint) , a torn muscle, or a Ligament around the knee joint.
To diagnose any of the above injuries, MRI scan of the knee joint is mandatory.
Till that time , follow the RICE regime along with analgesic antiinflammatory medications.
Consult an orthopedic surgeon for further workup and management.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
