Hypertension In The Later Stage Of Pregnancy. On Medication. Complications?
greetings from chennai. now am in tenth month of pregnancy. yesterday i met my doctor and she said pressure is high 140/90. so better u admit hereitself like that. today also we have consulted wit tat same doctor and the pressure level also maintaining same ie 140/90. is there any problem due to this pressure level? nw am taking tablets as per her advice.
hi,
blood pressure level above 140/90 mm of hg, detected first time in pregnancy can be taken as pregnancy induced hypertension,
the complications due to this will depend on the gestational age of the onset, earlier the onset more will be the complications, as you are already in tenth month, with mild hypertension and on medication the chance of complications are less,
but you should not stop taking treatment and should have periodic checkups till your expected date of delivery, if any abnormality is detected either in mother health status or in monitoring of baby like decreased heart beat etc better to admit in hospital and further management should be according to your doctor's advice.
take care.
