Hypertensive With Inconsistent BP. Lacipil Regulates It. Also Taking Atorvastatin, Metformin, Losartan And Aspirin. Is This Normal?

My father gets a BP of 132/102 mmhg and at times he gets 172/120 mmhg. He then takes in lacipil tablet claiming it will get his BP down. He has been self medicating from previous meds he has had. He had other meds such as atorvastatin and metformin and losartan. I am afraid he may have a stroke from his high blood pressure or maybe a heart attck waiting to happen. He doesnt complain of any symptoms of headache except for occassional heaviness which he says if he feels that way he immediately takes in lacipil assuming he may have a high BP? Whats your best advice? Is his meds stil alright for him to get? Why does his bp get so high. By the way he does have aspirin but doesnt take it routinely. Pls help. Thank you.

Your father has fluctuating hypertension.
It is due to many reasons. It may be due to inadequate or inappropriate dose etc.
You should consult your cardiologist.
He may need other combination of drugs for control.
He should be observed so that he take proper medicines on time.
Fluctuating B.P may lead to stroke and it has many deleterious effects on many systems.
He should do walking and take salt restricted diet.
