Hypothyroid, Fibroids, Irregular Periods, Heavy Bleeding. Solution Without Any Surgery?
HELLO , myself is Dipa. i am hypothyroid and before pregancy i had two fibroids i.e submucosal 13x11 mm in size and subserosal 10x 6 mm in size. since fibroids were of small size i had normal pregnancy in yr 2008. presently i am 38 yrs old. my problem is in 2009 the size of fibroids was submucosal 11x10 mm and subserosal 13x9 mm. Now a days i am having heavy bleeding and i had menses twice last month. i again went for sonography the size of fibroid is 17.7mm-13.4mm -submucosal, 19.4mm-14.2mm- subserous and another new fibroid intramular of 16.3mm-11.1mm is there.& endometrial thickness is 11.4 mm. my tsh is 3.0, hb is 12. i am having a single daughter of 5 yrs and i don't want to go for surgery of fibroids. for heavy bleeding i take tranostat mf for previous two days.pl. tell me what to do to get my periods regular and to stop heavy bleeding whithout any surgery.
Hi Dipa, I would advise you to take iron supplements to maintain HB level, continue your thyroid drug. Hormonal drugs and tranexemic acid can control bleeding, for that you can consult your gynaecologist, these drugs can even reduce the size of fibroids so that conservative surgery like myomectomy can be performed which preserves your uterus but chances of conceiving even after conservative surgery are minimal because of uterine scars. Since you have multiple fibroids at different locations, suffering from heavy bleeding, in my opinion if you are not desirous of having a second baby you should go in for surgery. I hope that answers your query.
