Hypothyroidism Was Diagnosed After Graves Disease Treatment With Radiation And Medication. Suggest Precautions To Be Taken?
If hypothyroidism is diagnosed after graves disease treatment with radiation and medication has not stabilized the hypothyroidism can a blood alcohol content be influenced by this disease? I have seen thread discussions where some people experience an exaggerated blood alcohol level with this condition. I watched my son perform his DJ show and only consume two beers (which I paid for and brought to him during his show) over the course of 4 hours, the last one being a little over two hours before the end of the show. After the show he took a daytime cold tablet, packed his equipment and drove home (7 minute ride). He was pulled over in his driveway and because he had bronchitis and couldn t effectively blow into the breathalyzer he consented to a blood test. It did come back right at the legal limit and he was charged. How could this happen? I witnessed this and am surprised and stumped.
HI Thank for asking to HCM Giving such advise which is not allowed on medical ground is not good, hypothyroidism controls very easily with medicine alone, but the for the method you have asked or whatever information you got it is absolutely wrong and should never be pratice, another question regarding your son is technical question which may not be possible here to discus here neither this could help you in any way, have nice day
hello there! Thank you for asking. You need to take a balance between Hypo and heperthyroidism secondary to excessive intake of medications. hypothyroidism management is the game of hormones which you need to play very carefully neither to exceed to avoid excacerbations like Tachycardia Palpitations,Atrial fibrillation,Nervousness,Tiredness,Headache, Increased excitability,Sleeplessness,Tremors, Possible angina etc and also avoiding under treatment with thyroixine to avoid subclinical hypothyroidisms or myxedemas or other hypothyroid complications like myxedema coma etc. be cautious when engaging in an activity that poses a risk of injury (eg, operating presses or heavy equipment and driving). Take iodine in diet 150 ug a day minimum. Avoid contact sports and heavy physical labor. And yes alcohol excacerbates the condition by gastro intestinl interruptions and neurological effects.
take care Regards Dr Khan
