I Am 18 Years Old And My Temporal Bones (both)

I am 18 years old and my temporal bones (both) are huge. They both stick out a lot and make my head shape look very odd. I'm actually very insecure about my head shape because of it. It's been like this for many years but I know i wasn't born like this because in my baby pictures and pictures of me as a pre teen my face shape was normal and my temporal bones didn't stick out like this at all. I recently just went to the dentist and found out I have TMJ and was referred to a specialist for consultation and treatment. I haven't made an appointment yet but will soon. But I always knew I had TMJ issues because my jaw has been locking, cracking and feeling weird for about 2 years now. I don't think this could be the reason both my temporal bones stick out so much. What do you think is the cause of this and how can I make it go away. Please help.
