I am a 33 year old female who lives in Modesto, California and am very sick and in desperate need of some serious advice and help. I was diagnosed with secondary fibromyalgia and Hashimoto's disease about 2 years ago. I had a consultation with a Rheumotologist which said I really should be checked for all muscular dystrophy conditions as well being testing for all conditions in the ms family and that can have symptoms that mimic ms. My symptoms include severe wide spread pain, terrible fatigue, and fibro fog which I know is normal for fibromyalgia; but I also have times where my legs go completely numb on me and I am unable to move them almost like I am temporarily paralyzed from the waste down, My legs hips and back give out on me all the time and I have bad balance issues where I fall consistantly, I also having times where I get hit with horrible abdominal pain that acts like labor contractions but is 100 times more painful the labor and delivery. I have severe weight loss that is unexplained and nobody can tell me why and I am slowly going blind and my eye doctor said that my eyes are not the cause and that it is a neurological condition that is making me loose my eye sight, I have a hard time hearing and speaking sometimes and I have short term memory loss problems that are still unexplained. Just recently I notice some numbing in the right side of my face and I have lost the ability to use my rectal and bladder muscles to push out urine and bowel and I have developed hypoglycemia (as low as 62) and seriously low BP (the lowest being 85/43 pulse 56) which has seemed to develop overnight. I went to the ER in Turlock and they released me after I begged them to admit me. They suggested I go to mayo clinic in Pheonix, Arizona. I called them but because I live in CA and have health plan of San Joaquin Medi-cal for insurance they can't except it and for me to in the charity program my primary doctor who has refused to see for a year in a half and will only refill my pain meds, Zofran, and Lyrica would have to call the mayo clinic to state my case and get the process started for my to be on the Charity program otherwise I'd have to pay $3,000 dollar deposit and monthly payments which depend on testing and treatment which I can't afford because I am on SSI getting less then $400 a month and my son is on AFDC so I could barely come up with the money to get to the mayo clinic let alone pay for medical bills. Any suggestions on what I should do or where I should go to get help or any advice or ideas as to what could be causing me to be so sick that I am not gravely disabled and no longer able to care for myself would be greatly appreciated. I looked to see if there were organizations that could help me with the bills at the mayo clinic and help me get a medical assistance dog that I desperately am in need of but could not find any. Thank you so much for your time and I am very sorry about the long message about everything but I am desperate and don't know what else to do. I am so afraid that whatever is making me so sick is going to take my life before I find out what is wrong because my insurance kept me from getting the medical care I need. Thank you again.
