I Am Getting A Severe Headache Due To Tooth Ache, Is It Normal ?

Started two weeks ago I think I got a toothache and it was so bad it gave me a really bad headache . Since then I have gotten a headache everyday. A few days my head felt really hot I took my temp. And it was just 98. Yesterday and today I got really cold and then hot again. Headaches still here. I feel lightheaded but I have been drinking plenty of water and juice. I kinda feel like I m going to panic but I m not freaking out about anything.. What s wrong with me?

Hi,
Headache could be associated to an underlying tooth ache. First you should consult a dentist for the tooth ache. Treatment depends on the condition of the tooth in your oral cavity- Root canal Treatment or Extraction. Dental pain can be referred to other parts of the head and neck.

Hi,

Welcome to HCM.
It is common to get headache in association with tooth problem.
Dental caries or swelling and inflammation of gums can give rise to persisting headaches.
Consult a dental surgeon, to find out the cause for toothache. Treating that cause, should relieve your headache as well.

Hi, Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum.
There are various causes for this, like you have mentioned a Toothache which could cause a referred pain to your head, other causes could be Stress, Anxiety, Poor Posture, Jaw Clenching. Kindly get yourself examined by a Neurologist so that he can examine you thoroughly and rule out the exact cause. If necessary he might order a CT scan of head. Also get a Second opinion from a Dentist. Stick to your treatment plan and go for regular follow up.
If you smoke or Drink, QUIT. Avoid stress and exercise regularly, adopt a perfect posture while lying down or sitting that places minimal stress on your neck muscles. Practice relaxation techniques like yoga and meditation.

Hope I have answered your query, I Will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Wish you Good Health.

Hi, it is very common that toothache radiates to the ear, neck and head. First of all i advise you to take anti inflammatory analgesic medication along with antibiotics for immediate pain relief. You can take Tab Dicloran A or Tab Aceclo Plus with Tab Cifran 500 mg. Please consult a dentist and go for a dental OPG. It will show you the status of the offending tooth. You may need to go for a root canal treatment or tooth extraction depending upon the severity of infection. Take care!!!
