Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a L4-L5 laminectomy Aug 30, 2016. About 3 weeks ago my initial symptoms were coming back and an MRI w and w/o contrast was ordered. Radiology report showed what appeared to be a large deep wound seroma along w/ a smaller seroma. On Nov 15 I had surgery to remove the fluid, cultures for infection. Other than the surgical pain (which was significant) no infections were found. I was released to home yesterday and today my pain is returning and my wife (DPN) noticed extreme fluid build up which she called dependent because of my activity and location. My surgeon was concerned about not knowing what caused the fluid the first time. Now it has returned. Is this common or am I an unusual case?
