Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a chest CT due to complaints of shortness of breath. Test results read " Pulmonary emphysema is present.Should I be concerned that my doctor's office had the nurse call with these results and she was unable to answer questions and when I asked if I should see a pulmonologist, she replied ," well, you can." This is unsettling to me that a diagnosis of emphysema seemed so nonchalant. Should i see further medical care or assume the doctor's office thinks its okay for now?
