I Had A Door Slammed Into My Big Toe At

I had a door slammed into my big toe at work. A person was walking outside while I was walking inside and tbe door collided with it. I limped the rest of the day abd iced it as soon as I gotten home. I was able to put pressure. Now it is not so sore. It is bruised and really swollen and now itches on the side. Why is this?
