I Had A Lung Biopsy (with Results Confirmed By Mayo

I had a lung biopsy (with results confirmed by Mayo Clinic) & I have Usual Interstitial Pneumonia (UIP) & Pulmonary Fibrosis. I know that UIP is not a good diagnosis (to say the least). I have 2 questions: 1 - The breathing test I had about a month ago showed that my breathing capacity is quite good - is that common? 2 - Does UIP "plateau" or go into a kind of remission? I was referred to a pulmonologist who quickly demonstrated that he hadn't looked at any tests results - with the exception of the breathing test. Because that turned out quite well, his first question to me was, "What are you doing here?" His attitude was condescending - as if I'd come to him with a cold, rather than serious lung issues. Sorry - I'm still a bit upset - but I am curious about the two questions I asked & any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
