I had a water infection a few weeks ago. I was given three day antibiotics which did not work...waited a few days for tests...then I was put on five day antibiotics. I still felt run down after these but no longer had pain urinating.
I thought it was gone but three days ago the constant need to urinate, discomfort and uncomfortable sensation were back again with lower back pain and pain in my sides.
I visited a walk in centre yesterday and they took a urine sample but said other than some proteins showing up my urine was clear and not showing up as a water infection...They have sent it to the lab for testing. They could not give me antibiotics as they don't know which ones will work if I do have a water infection.
I have recently had a sexual health check up and that came back clear too.
The pain in my sides is especially painful during the night/early hours of the morning and I have to get up to urinate during the night. So I am quite tired and fed up. (Is it possible that I now have a kidney infection?)
