I Had Bilateral Ureter Re-implantation Surgery At The Age Of

I had bilateral ureter re-implantation surgery at the age of 10 years old. I am a 47 year old woman and I have suffered with reoccurring bladder infections since. I have been put on Macrobid once a day as a prophylactic treatment. My Urologist says he cannot see any reason for the infections but confirmed that I do have an e-coli bacteria present in the urine.
I don't want to take an antibiotic indefinitely.... any suggestions?
