I Had Partial Thyroidectomy 8years Ago For 3cm Follicular Adenoma

I had partial thyroidectomy 8years ago for 3cm follicular adenoma with normal thyroid function, just painful neck and choking and difficulty breathing. Now am having the same issues, c-scan shows multinodule (3) all at least 2cm, biopsy results benign, but pain is worse this time, swelling is visible, and I am experiencing hyper-salivation to a horrible degree, but dr seems to be dragging feet about removal of remaining thyroid half, are the synthetic thyroid replacements that horrible that I should just learn to live with the pain and choking?
