Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have COPD and some heart damage because of it. I am not currently using oxygen (although my doctor prescribed it and I have a machine to produce it. I smoke up to 2 packs a day of filtered cigarettes. My oxygen levels have remained in the low 90s and my pulse ranges from 75 to 85 until recently. For the past 2 weeks I've gotten readings from the mid 80s down to lower 70s. Just the last week or so, I have had nearly constant edema, mainly in my right foot & leg. And my ring finger on my left hand is semi-numb and tingly, along with infrequent shots of pain up my left arm - not bad pain but surprising and a nuisance. My question - Should I be concerned about a possible heart attack occuring?
