I Have C5&c6 Disc Replacements From An Auto Accident In
I have c5&c6 disc replacements from an auto accident in 2017. After an injury sept 2022 I’ve had severe pain and been doing physical therapy, stretching etc. since this injury which cause my c7 disc to bulge. Two days ago I woke up with extreme pain in my left shoulder blade and within 2 hours I was hardly able to move with this pain now shooting into my neck and down my legs causing my left leg to give out at times. Went in got and MRI with the following findings:
C5-C6: Limited evaluation secondary to artifact from the patient's hardware. No definite high-grade neural foraminal narrowing is seen on the T2 images. C6-C7: 4 mm posterior disc osteophyte complex which abuts the cervical cord. The central spinal canal measures 10 mm.
I was wondering if someone could help me know if surgery is the best option; as I live a very busy- active lifestyle with 6 children ages 9-2 with family and a business- plus working part time and a dance instructor.
I have an appointment with my neurosurgeon today; but the anticipation is overwhelming.
