Hi pat,
skiing injury usually leads to meniscial and cruciate ligament injury in knee due to twisting nature of injury, this can be best diagnosed by MRI knee or Arthroscopy. consult orthopedician for further evaluation and treatment. You can start with antiinflamatory drugs now for pain.

General & Family Physician, Dr. P. Mahesh's Response
Hi Pat,
Welcome to HCM. Since the pain has persisted for nearly one year, you will need to consult an orthopedic surgeon and get a detailed examination done. The pain could be due to osteoarthritis, menisci tear, sinovitis etc. Please do not ignore the pain. Knee joints are very important weight bearing joints and if neglected could cause severe damage. Wish you all the best.
