Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I eat a diet that is generally high in fiber. I try to eat 25-30 almonds a day to help with my cholesterol; however, when I add the almonds my system goes crazy and I get severe abdominal cramping and diarrhea . Without the almonds, my bowel movements are very regular. What is going on?
Hi, welcome to healthcaremagic forum.
Whenever u take 15-20 almonds u get diarrhoea, it is clear that u are overeating. Whenever taken, u must take not more than 5 almonds in a day. U can increase fibre in your diet through wheat(rotis), rice, fruits, salads and vegetables. Alöng with this also try to start ur day not with tea but some dry things like biscuits, roti, etc. Take care.

Dr. Rooma Ramnani

Hi,
Your symptoms suggest that you may be allergic to almonds.
