I Have Had An MRI Scan As They Suspected A

I have had an MRI scan as they suspected a bulging disc and have been told there is no sign if this now, but that there is "increased signal" on the right hand side of my lower back/spine and they could not see down to the base of my spine or pelvis from the MRI scan. There was no narrowing of the canal. They have said I have to get blood tests and go for another scan to see further in to my pelvis. Could this mean there is a mass? My mum had ovarian cancer at 48 years old, she had two tumours which were serous and mucinous which I believe is not normal cancer. I am 21 and was told females do not get cervical smear tests until 25. I know there is no test for ovarian cancer.
