I Have Knee Pain In Both Knees. It Seems Ok

I have knee pain in both knees. It seems ok when I am walking around but am finding it increasingly difficult when I put weight on it going up stairs or when I stand up after sitting for a while. Pain seems in middle of kneecap. I had bad episode of extreme joint pain in all joints a year ago and was on steroids. I had tested positive for inflammatory arthritis and had speckled ana 1;400 or something like that but rf negative. I haven't had any episode since although I still suffer stiffness in finger joints and knees and lower back pain. Could my knee pain indicate that I would need knee replacements at some stage as my dad has osteoarthritis and has had 2 knee replacements. My mother also has osteoarthritis.
