Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have nasal polyps in left side, due to this, there is a blockage on the left side and my nasal bone was become disorder. so there is very less space in the right side. so i can't breath properly. I Consult with my Doctor and he suggested for operation(Septoplasty Surgery) so please let me know, operation is the only way to resolve this problem or any other way if yes please let me know and also tell me that there is any side effect after operation?
Nasal polyps require FESS (Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery) and not Septoplasty, which is optional. A Surgical Micro-debrider instrument is the best way to tackle ployp removal. Get a plain CT PNS (Para Nasal Sinus) Scan done. Medical therapy may help if you have multiple polyps. If, on your CT PNS Scan, you have only one sided polyp/s, you may have an AC Polyp or an Inverted Papilloma where surgery is the only option. It is important to get a clear diagnosis. For this, a diagnostic nasal endoscopy and a CT PNS are the gold standard pre-operative investigations. Kindly get these done and post your results for further guidance.
Hi,
Thanks for query,
You might have nasal polyp as well as DNS i.e.deviated nasal septum.
So first go for x ray PNS and confirm the diagnosis.
Of course in both conditions surgery is a must.
There is no side effects after surgery.
Ok and bye.
