I Have Thyroid And Will It Affect My Pregnancy ?

Hello Doctor, I am 25 weeks pregnant. My TSH was tested in 3rd. month and the level was 3.79 (Free T4 not checked) and again checked yesterday and the TSH is 4.30 and Free T4 is 0.68. I have been prescribed Thyromon 50 mg now...but i am worried if this undected TSH and FT4 levels would have affected my baby by now. Please help.

Hi.. Hypothyroidism can cause defects in the fetus, however those may have been detected if any in the scan that you've had. A thyroid hormone assays would be provided from the sample of the placental cord blood at the time of delivery which would diagnose the possibilities of thyroid dysfunctions if any in your baby.. So continue with your medications and wait till the delivery.. Hope for the best...

You can continue pregnancy with this medication,but you have to be concious for thyroid hormon level,go for regular check up,also go for 4 D USG for foetal development.
