I just started birth control (tarina fe 1/20)?

I'm now on my placebo week, and am bleeding now, but i started bleeding (and cramping) before I was done with my active pills, it started as just a discharge then got worse and then turned into a light bleeding then overnight would become heavy and once I started the placebos got heavier the first day
I'm having wierd pains and im just very nervous as to what could be happening to me
am I still protected even though I bled earlier ?
